The Arc of Northern Shenandoah Valley is a membership organization made of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends, professionals and interested citizens. This local chapter of The Arc of Virginia and The Arc of the United States was established on December 7, 1967 to meet the needs of local families raising children with developmental disabilities.
To this day, The Arc/NSV has maintained a mission to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities by supporting individuals and families where either no or inadequate formal supports have existed, and by organizing efforts to fill service gaps on the local, state and national levels.
The Arc/NSV is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and a part-time Executive Director and part-time Administrative Assistant. |
